Start Your Own Bonsai Workshop (10:00am-11:30am)

Bonsai is an ancient horticultural art that began in Asia, and has since gone worldwide. The goal of bonsai is to style trees to bring beauty and contemplation into your environment. In this fun workshop, we will create our own bonsai with Portulacaria Afra also known as Dwarf Jade. This amazing succulent is nearly indestructible and extremely fast growing. “Ports” make excellent bonsai specimens as they are aesthetically pleasing, grow indoors and out, and thrive in subtropical Southern California weather. We’ll learn to care for and pot up these plants, and discuss techniques for styling as they grow and mature. Create a great holiday gift for someone special, or a fascinating piece of living artwork for yourself!

Floral & Table Top Design for the Ho Ho Holidays Workshop (11:45am-1:15pm)

Enjoy tips on how to create floral arrangements and table tops for the not so ho hum holidays. Each participant will walk away with one to three floral bouquets they have created in the workshop, with the opportunity to purchase vintage and current containers, glasses, linens, serving pieces they have just learned how to mix and match for hosting with an aesthetic twist. Local Interior Designer, Melissa Kite brings beauty, intelligence and joy to everything she touches.

Wrap It Up Workshop (2:00pm-3:30pm)

You put a lot of thought into the gifts you give your loved ones. So why not make those gifts even more personal with custom, hand-crafted gift wrap? Learn basic printmaking and pattern design techniques, see some inspirational gift-wrap ideas, and walk away with at least three large sheets of wrapping paper, some corresponding gift tags and ribbon. We'll be enjoying yummy mint brownies while we work! (If you sign up for the workshop and have any food restrictions, message Mandy at mandy@sixthandberry.com so she can accommodate you.)

Macrame Necklace Workshop (3:45pm-5:15pm)

Macrame comes from a 13th century Arabic weavers' word 'migramah' meaning 'fringe". They were decorative fringes on camels and horses which helped keep the flies off in the hot desert regions of northern Africa. If you're looking to keep the flies away, or you just want to design your own necklace, all are welcome to join! Create a piece that you will accent your outfits. You will learn some basic knots, and this workshop is perfect for anyone interested in learning a new skill or picking up a fun hobby. This is the perfect fit for beginners, those who have never done macrame before or for those who want to freshen up their skills.
